Resource Details

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS)offers FREE services statewide to individuals with a hearing loss and thier family members. Services include information and referral and direct client assistance. DHHS assist individuals with gaining communiction access to other service providers. In turn, DHHS consult with service providers to help them better serve individuals with a hearing loss. Some of the DHHS offices, including the Metro office, have a “hands on” assistive techolgy lab to expose individuals to equipment that may help them live more independently. DHHS oversees the Telephone Equipment Distribution Program (TED) that distributes special telephone equipment to people who are deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing, or have a speech impairment or physical disability.
